Both California and Australia produce some very fine Shiraz varietals.

Theyre both rather good but I prefer the Californian wines to the Aussie ones. They have a bolder taste and a fruitier bouquet.

I think you need to find one that you like, from a personal view point I like Australian Wine but in saying that I have had superb wines from California and Chile, just go with the flow.
