What is the diffrence between a blush wine and a blush chablis wine?

April 5th, 2010

Blush is another name for pink wines.

Chablis is a region of Burgundy, in France, famous for its white wines made from the Chardonnay grape.

There is no such thing as a blush wine made in Chablis.

I remember when I was in the USA in the late 1970′s that cheap restaurants had three house wines, Burgundy (red), Chablis (white) and Pink Chablis. Need less to say none of these wines were from Burgundy and none were made from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay.

I didn’t realise that 30 years later there were still people with the bare-faced cheek to try and cheat and fool consumers by misusing Burgundian names, but it seems there are.

So the difference between a blush wine and a blush chablis wine is that the first describes the wine and the second is a lie. Avoid. Spend a buck or two more and buy and honest wine, that is confident enough of its selft to not rip-off and pretend to be something else.

A blush wine is usually a zinfandel (red grape) that has not been left on the skins to develop colour-this can be any red but traditionally is Zin. it is lighter than a rose.
Blush Chablis is a lie- Chablis is a region in france producing ONLY white dry crisp wines from the Chardonnay grape- they NEVER make a blush- this is a immoral producer trying to sell wine based on someone elses reputation- and should be used to wash your car, not drunk
