planter are turning brown. I’m concerned that I may be over-watering. I have been watering daily until water starts dripping through the coconut husk. Any ideas?
There is no plant that requires being watered every day. I do have a suggestion but also think that you should go on the net and find a plant nursery that addresses your particular plant and it’s problems. When I have a plant that does not appear to be doing well the first thing I do is take a magnifying glass and look for bugs (spider mites etc). Secondly I make sure that the water is being distributed evenly throughout the plant. I have had potted plants where the center of the plants root ball is not getting any water at all. At this point I remove the whole plant out of the pot, gently break up the root ball and then re-pot it. If you are inclined to water only in the center of the plant and it is not a tuber then the plant is being deprived of the water around the edge of the plant. Also some plants tend to ‘drop’ older leaves.
As I stated above I suggest you find a nursery on the net that will address your plants issues if it is a plant that you really want to keep. But stop watering it everyday or you will end up with root rot.
