Champagne – Cavo With Lyrics

March 11th, 2010

Lyrics:
I need you
Here with me
Don’t take this
Too far now

Your eyes seem
So lonely
Inside you
Feel like you lost your mind

Coulda been the champagne
The champagne
Coulda been the cocaine
The cocaine
Coulda been the way you looked at me
That told me we were through
Through

And I miss you
All day now
I’m screaming
Inside out

Don’t tempt me
Cause I’ll break you
I don’t need this
And I’ll burn this whole thing down

Coulda been the champagne
The champagne
Coulda been the cocaine
The cocaine
Coulda been the way you looked at me
That told me we were through

It coulda been a bad day
A bad day
Coulda been the real way
The real way
Coulda been the way you looked at me
That told me we were through

I wish you
Would take from me
Everything
I cannot be

With eyes so blind
You cannot see
That I won’t ever leave

Coulda been the champagne
The champagne
Coulda been the cocaine
The cocaine
Coulda been the way you looked at me
That told me we were through

It coulda been a bad day
A bad day
Coulda been the real way
The real way
Coulda been the way you looked at me
That told me we were through

Coulda been the champagne
The champagne
Coulda been the cocaine
The cocaine

Coulda been the champagne
The champagne
Coulda been the cocaine
The cocaine
Coulda been the way you looked at me
That told me we were through
Through
We were through
Now we’re through

what is a nice champagne for a college graduation?

December 29th, 2009

I am looking to get a nice bottle of champagne for my girlfriend who is graduating from college on wednesday. I want to buy a bottle from the $50 to $75 range. Any suggestions?

Champagne prices vary depending on the state you live in, but Veuve Cliquot vintage is really very nice at around $65 (again, that will vary). This isn’t the regular, solid yellow label. It looks like this: http://www.veuve-clicquot.com/home/us/en/the_collection/vintages/vintage. It has a yellow box inside the label (not all yellow)

I really love it. IMHO, it’s an excellent champagne for the price, and I’ve had some premium champagnes.

What is the best way to serve champagne at a wedding?

November 27th, 2009

I am getting married at the end of this month and my fiance and I are trying to decide the best way to serve champagne for the toast. We are serving a buffet style dinner, and we will have around 100 guests at the reception. There is not a bar attached to the reception hall, so we are responsible for supplying and distributing beverages. We plan on setting up a beverage station for tea, soda, water, punch, etc. However, our debate is on how to serve the champagne. He suggests leaving it on the table, but we worry about waste – because we are also supplying sparking juice for those who do not drink alcohol. I suggest having 3 or 4 people host the beverage station and people can go up and order what they want to drink and toast with whatever they want when the toasts are given. Any advice any of you could offer would be appreciated. I realize it’s not a huge deal, but neither one of use know the best way to get this issue resolved. Thanks!!

usually for a sit down dinner bottles of wine/soda etc are already on the tables for ppl to help themselves….. but since you are having a buffet dinner i think it’s fine to go up to the bar to collect their own toast of choice- that way there will be less waste for you = less cost (and more $$ for the honeymoon!)

Will champagne that is stored for a long time in heat explode?

November 26th, 2009

I am planning a long road trip across country, and I will be bringing some champagne. There will be long periods of time when the car will be left outside and will heat up to at least 120 F, it is the US summer after all. What I need to know is if champagne is stored for to long like this, will to much pressure build up and it could shatter the glass bottle it is in?

How long do you think it will need to be stored to explode if at all?
Thank you.
Can someone give me a bit more educated answer…

YES! HELL YES! IT WILL EXPLODE! and it is one hell of a mess to clean up… trust me.

If you absolutely must leave it in the care. Leave it in the truck out of direct sunlight. Insulate it against the heat by wrapping it in a towel. Every good traveler (hitchhiker) has a towel. If this fails the towel will at least keep the glass contained and limit the spray of the champagne.

EDIT:

Educated explanation… When liquid is heated it expands and eventually becomes a gas. As the liquid/gas expand the pressure inside the bottle builds, but the pressure outside the bottle remains the same… unless you are changing your relative position to sea level… eventually the pressure inside the bottle will pass the stress threshold of the bottle and hopefully blow the cork out the top… worst case scenario the bottom is blown off and you get glass and champagne everywhere.

Any suggestions for a good wine or champagne?

November 25th, 2009

I just moved in with my boyfriend and I want to have a celebration dinner. He doesn’t like to eat out, so I’m planning on ordering in from a cute little bistro down the street, and I’m looking for a good wine or champagne to go with it. We both like light, fruity wines. Something that goes down smooth, and isn’t too dry. I prefer whites, but he likes both. Suggestions?

As far as price goes, I’m looking for a mid-range wine or champagne, between $25-$50 dollars.

As for wines, I would suggest Sauvignon Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc is one of my favorite wines to introduce to a non-drinker, because it is indeed fruity and less alcohol. It is relatively inexpensive, does not have the flavor that most people don’t like (tannin/bitter, acidic, oaky, etc), and it is readily available at supermarket and wine stores. I would suggest to start out with something cheaper, like Chateau St. Michelle Sauvignon Blanc ($14), Napa Cellar ($15), Chateau Souverin ($14), Dry Creek Fume Blanc ($14). Personal favorite include Robert Mondavi Fume Blanc ($16) and Caymus Conundrum ($25) and Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc ($20).

As for Champagne, I agree with the writer on looking for nice cheaper champagnes from California. I think Chandon makes very good and cheap champagnes. They have so many different types, mostly runs $15-30. Personal favorites from California include Frank’s Family Champagne (especially the pink champagne $40) and Schramberg ($30-40). If you want something fruity and sweeter and not as dry, I would also throw this other one in – from France, Moet and Chandon has a wonderful sweeter champagne called Nectar Imperial ($40), hard to get but lovely.

Good luck and have fun.

What was the best champagne year during the last century?

November 24th, 2009

I need to know what year gave the best champagne from the year 1900 to the year 2000…

as you will see on the chart, 1971 was the best that still might be drinkable. Hard to tell before that.
