any seafood dish will work. also, most chicken dishes will work just fine.

saute some chicken cutlets dredged in flour and then remove from pan. add a 1/4 cup of your wine and reduce by half. add 1/4 cup heavy cream & season with salt and lemon pepper. reduce by half again. remove from heat and swirl in 2 tbsp butter. mmmmmmmmmm……………. serve with steamed broccoli and simple rice pilaf

    • ]]>     This Talomas Chardonnay (83%) / Viognier (17%) came with a musky buttery nose mixed with very faint gasoline and the usual tropical fruit and pineapple suggesting the wine has gone through malolactic fermentation. The wine was surprisingly fresh, refreshing and crisp unlike many California chardonnays which are OTT (Over the top): Smokey, oaky, full body, with full blown malolatic buttery and off dry fruit — I call it being suffocated by Dolly Parton’s bosoms…Although this Char is not too complex as expected, I believe the Viognier has contributed the wine with much vibrancy and spiciness. The lifted but balanced acidity also means the wine is versatile with a large variety of food. The wine was reduced in BC from $21 to $7.99 in the summer of 2006 after Mondalvi was bought by Constellation brand in 2004. It’s still available at private stores such as Central City of Surrey in BC at $12. What a mark up (!) but still fair in price I guess. Drink now like the way I quaffed it down after filming! (Rating 87-89) points by Michael Lam of the Beverage Review.

    well, if I drink the whole bottle by myself (considering he is drinking beer or Pinot) well, my husband will say I am drinking too much, so if pour an extra glass for myself and pour a glass of water into the bottle – it will look like I didn’t drink that much, but if I want to finish the wine bottle tomorrow, will it spoil the wine? It’s an expensive bottle.

    Short answer, yes.

    Pouring a glass of water into your bottle of wine would do a couple things. First it would water down the wine, that’s not good now is it? Second, it would introduce oxygen to the wine, wine begins oxidizing as soon as the bottle is opened, but splashing the wine would cause it to oxidize even faster. Third, unless the water is boiled (or otherwise sterilized) you run the risk of contaminating your wine.

    It depends.

    If you are from Romania yourself, orthe recipient is, or you have brought it back from a trip there, OK

    Otherwise if you want to make an impression, I suggest you avoid it. A Romanian wine will indicate a cheapo wine. Better to get a wine from a mainstream wine producing country.

    If in doubt what to get, Champagne is always welcomed.

    (I am not disparaging wine made in Romania, I am remarking on the perception that Romaniona wine has outside that country)

    But the other day a glass I poured tasted sour.

    Depends, if the wine was very slightly "off" when you first opened it you probably didn’t notice, but it will spoil quicker once open.
    You should always seal wine anyway as it will take on flavours from the fridge otherwise.
