Oasis – Champagne Supernova lyrics

July 6th, 2010

Oasis’ second album *(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?*

Oasis – Champagne Supernova Lyrics

How many special people change
How many lives are living strange
Where were you when we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you while we were getting high?
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky

Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you when we were getting high?

Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky

Cos people believe that theyre
Gonna get away for the summer
But you and i, we live and die
The worlds still spinning round
We dont know why
Why, why, why, why

How many special people change
How many lives are living strange
Where were you when we were getting high?
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannon ball
Where were you while we were getting high?

Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Some day you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky

Cos people believe that theyre
Gonna get away for the summer
But you and i, we live and die
The worlds still spinning round
We dont know why
Why, why, why, why

How many special people change
How many lives are living strange
Where were you when we were getting high?
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high

Champagne At Your Party

June 29th, 2010

When the bubbles were first discovered in champagne they weren’t intentional and great effort was gone to to recreate them. Over time the sparkling wine started to grow in popularity and was soon declared a favourite of the noble and wealthy especially in the French courts of the 16th century. Affluence and wealth is still associated with drinking champagne today as is often only drunk at special occasions in a certain way.

Over the last fifty years the traditional champagne coupe has been replaced with the more common flute. The champagne flute is designed especially to ensure the champagne is enjoyed at its best and holds the same air of opulence as the drink itself. The long stem of the flute serves the same purpose as the traditional wine glass. It allows the consumer to hold their glass without transferring their body heat to the drink. The tall thin design of the flute is also to keep as many bubbles as possible by exposing as little of the drink to the air. When champagne is being served at a party the design of the flute means plenty of glasses can fit onto a serving tray. The traditional champagne flute is often only used today for aesthetics like creating champagne fountains. Crystal glasses are favoured by serious champagne connoisseurs because the rougher texture of the crystal will produce more bubbles. Although champagne should always be served chilled, the champagne glasses should never be chilled before use.

Champagne is normally consumed on special occasions or for celebrations so is always best enjoyed however the celebrator chooses. The primary directive of the champagne flute design is to keep your champagne sparkling and bubbly. Although only sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France may call itself champagne, most sparkling wines will offer the same sparkle and air of opulence.

A Guide To Drinking Champagne

June 29th, 2010

Those who drink champagne on a regular basis will be very much aware of the culture and etiquettes behind such a privileged drink. The etiquettes behind drinking champagne won’t be familiar to most as it’s often reserved for special occasions.

The optimum temperature for champagne to be served at is about 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The best way to achieve this temperature is to let the bottle chill in a champagne bucket filled with ice for about 30 minutes before serving. Champagne can chill in a fridge for around three hours as well. Never put a bottle of champagne in the freezer. Whilst the champagne should be chilled the champagne glasses should be at room temperature. As fun as it always seems, not many people get to practice the art of popping the cork. It’s the bottle that should be twisted whilst holding the cork still rather than the other way around when opening a bottle. Although opening a bottle of champagne is associated with the pop, it shouldn’t make this noise. Ideally the cork should be realised making a gentle sigh as this keeps the maximum amount of bubbles in the bottle. Although wine glasses will suffice, champagne is best consumed from a champagne flute for maximum bubbles. Whilst pouring always allow the froth to settle before topping the glass up to about two thirds. Champagne can easily be stored in the fridge for several days as long as it’s kept air tight.

As much as we all enjoy the pomp and grandeur of opening a bottle of champagne basic safety should never be overlooked. The average cork will have about 70 pounds per square inch of pressure behind it. This is easily enough force to damage someone’s eye permanently or smash any glass close by. This is why the bottle should never be opened facing anything damageable.
